Experience at the sathyam Theatre.

Hello good morning to you,
I got two tickets to the tamil film "Malai Kottai", for the six fourty
five pm show on 30-9-2007 at Sathyam Main Theatre. I got the tickets as
a prize by the Economic Times Supplementary called 'Madras Plus'. In
that supplementary there is a section called "Line Maaro" , in which
Actor Vickram answers the quiestions asked by the readers. I also sent
some questions with my jpeg snap, and my second question was selected as
the smartest one. I sent the email to this email address
linemaaro.vikram@gmail.com . I was surprised when I had an email in my
gmail in box telling me that iam a winner of that contest and iam
eligible for two film tickets at sathyam theatre. Today I & father went
to the film and returned an hour ago. The question that I asked and the
answer for that along with my name has been published in the september
22nd issue of economic times,in the supplementary called Madras Plus and
in that there is a small section called 'line maaro'. I am yet to see
the issue and my name on it. If I get to have a copy of that newspaper I
would cut the portion having my name and keep it as a collection. The
film was good. And we were in the balcony section and the cost of the
film's ticket was Rs.120 each. It was free for me. It is an RDX
theatre(Real Digital Experience) and the sound effects were great. And
the airconditioned theatre was cool.

From Aravind rajesh n. winner of the two tickets to sathyam for the smartest ? Published on 22.09.2007

Hello every body at madras plus,
Today evening I watched the film 'malai kottai' at the main theatre of
the sathyam ciniplex. Thanks for the tickets and it was a great
experience to watch a tamil film in an RDX theatre, the air conditioned
ambience was great and so was the sound effects. It has been a long time
since I watched a movie in the theatre. I watch films only on
television.i remember watching a balcony ticketed film for Rs. Thirty
five just eight years ago. When I heard that the balcony ticket for this
film was Rs.120 I was really surprised. Even then there was strong crowd
for the film. If a family has a dvd player, they could buy an orignal
film itself for that cost and see from the comfort of their homes. I
think the families come to theatre to see a movie for the experience of
being among people and a sort of outing. I and my father watched a tamil
film in air conditioned comfort because of you. Thanks for that. Aravind
Rajesh N. Special thanks for Actor Vikram for selecting mine as the
smartest quiestion (?)and thus enabling me to experience the RDX
theatre. I myself would have thought twice for coughing out two hundred
and fourty indian rupees for two tickets. By the way did actor vikram
himself choose the smartest ? Or somebody in you team did on behalf of
him. Please answer this quiestion please.?..
I am publishing this email in my blog too.ok.

Regarding the Twenty-20 world cup.

The inaugural twenty-20 world cup in the new format of twenty over a
side that was won by the Indians has been accepted by the majority of
the major cricketing nations. This short form of the game would probably
be the proper vehicle for the game of cricket to reach the American
continent. The short duration of the game is ideally suited for the
American people; this game is just like the base ball, in terms of
hitting the ball clean. There is big time money to be had from a game
when it is introduced in the North American continent. What ever revenue
that is being got by the cricketing boards now would look very small in
comparison when the Twenty-20 form of cricket becomes famous in North
America. How ever I had a question that is yet to be properly answered
to my satisfaction. Now a team whether it is promoted by one association
or the other, ultimately won the world cup in a particular format of
cricket and the game has such a huge fan following in India, in spite of
it being not even the national game of the nation, the natural thing to
do is to broadcast the matches in the national network. When a team
claims that it represents the nation, it should be backed fully. At
least the final that the team representing India played and eventually
won should have been broadcast live in the national television. At least
the radio commentary could have been done. The practice of private firms
getting the telecast rights of matches that are being played in a
country is not fair. See, some company might have purchased the telecast
rights of all cricket matches in any format that is being played within
a country's jurisdiction and when another country's team comes and plays
in that country, the television viewers of the touring team have to
watch from those channels that have bought the feeds by paying huge
fees, and these channels pass on the cost to the viewers by making these
channels -pay channels. I suggest that when ever touring team plays a
game of cricket, the viewers of the touring team should be allowed to
watch the match in their national television channels. The argument of
cricket consuming the precious office hours is not true, since in this
new twenty-20 format only three hours is being taken to decide the
match. It would take ten hours to decide a match in the one day format.
Now it is comparatively less. And most of the matches can be scheduled
to occur in the evenings, so that more office people get to watch the
matches and the television channels are also happy because they are able
to get prime time advertisement charges for the spots being aired during
the twenty-20 matches. It makes good economic sense to play these
matches in the evenings. I suggest another thing also, when a touring
team plays; this aspect of timing of the match should be looked into so
that maximum viewer ship is obtained. This can be done by arranging the
order of the matches. For example if in a day three matches are
scheduled and one match is between neighboring countries this can be
done in the late evening to get prime time viewer ship. If two touring
teams are playing the second match this match can be scheduled in the
early part of the day, since at that time the match would get prime
time viewer ship audience in the touring team's country. For example, if
New Zealand and India are playing in South Africa, this match can be
scheduled in the evening as the second match being played, so that more
viewers are able to view the match without getting permission from the
office. Further the number of potential viewers would be more in India
as compared to viewers in New Zealand. So India's viewers should be in
the mind of the match scheduler, while devising the dates and timings of
the matches to be played. This kind of planning should be done to get
maximum viewer ship for a match and I am sure this kind of planning is
already being done and if it is not done now, at least from now onwards
this should be taken seriously. This arrangement is mutually beneficial,
for the broadcasters they get maximum viewers for their television ads,
and for the viewers, they get to watch their matches without cutting
their office hours.

recently i heard from my maternal grand father about his marraige experiences. it was interesting indeed. the marraige was finalised by the father in law of my grand father's father-in-law. my grand father was working in india post about fourty years ago and living in lal mohamed street, triplicane, chennai. as i said the father-in-law of my gradfather's father-in-law, came from his village of chennai city to finalise the marraige ceremony by giving some cash for new clothes for my grandfather and also the travelling expenses to the marraige hall in the village. at that time my grand father has not even seen my grandmother. my grand father from curiosity went to the village where my grand mother was staying and posed himself as a brother of the prospectie bridegroom and had lunch and returned to chennai.

i have bought the book in a state of fear , by micheal chrichton from a second hand book store and iam yet to read few pages of the book. i hope it would be an interesting read. besides i have a list of must watch films given by my distant cousin, his elder brother is working with the NIH, in america. my cousing, he has an aptitude for films and on a weekly basis he taken on rent a dvd for fifty rupees and sees them in his home theatre system. he went to see his elder brother working with NIH and while returning he bought a lap top and a projector with him. these things are less costly there . cousin has made one plain wall into a theatre screen and watches the rented dvd's in dts sound quality in his home threater system. he taught me wether a dvd is pirated or not. the original ones are of golden colour while the pirated ones are bluish in colour. he appreciates the good things in life and keeps himself fit by lifting dumbbells daily.

yesterday i went to give an order for a specially made shoe that fits to my foot. i started in the early evening and all the shops were closed, since yesterday being a sunday, every body were taking their time off. i was able to get the name of a good shop that actually takes orders and has a small workshop where these kind of made to order shoes are also being done. the person who took my order, was the owner and he was very open with me. he told me that if i tried to bargain with him to lower the price of the shoe then he would reduce the prize and substitute a rexin flap here and there instead of a leather. in that way he can save fifty rupees for each flap. he was also telling me about the various quality of leather based upon the treatment that it undergoes with chemicals. i asked for a full formall leather shoe, i opter for a full leather blackcolour shoe meaning the bottom portion of the shoe would also be made of leather. i felt good in a leather shoe that i got at a discount. that was a branded shoe. i have decided to go for a made to order shoe, because the cost of the brand is not there and in that way i need to pay lesser money for the shoe.

Recently I watched a movie called the war about a ex serviceman from Vietnam war, his family is really poor and this man does not get any good job because he is getting nightmares about his previous life. I got this original DVD from my distant cousin who got this from DVD lending library in Chennai; it is some where in kodambakkam, Chennai. The movie was nice. he antics of the children in trying to protect their tree house is well captured by the camera. The picture quality was great and there was dts sound also there. Another interesting thing is that I can see the film with subtitles in many languages, what is more I could listen to the screen play in Japanese language. The Japanese spoken in very fast and it is the speech form is very practical. The kind of Japanese that I might have learnt is very basic and I did only conversational Japanese. I have to learn more kotobas or words to understand the spoken form of Japanese(as spoken by the native speakers)

I want to know whether I can get a program that makes drawing a flow chart easier. I have seens that kind of software some where but I am unable to know the address.
there are thousands of software programs in the net and iam sure there would also be an userfriendly version of making flow charts on the computer.

it has been a hectic week end for me. grand father is here in chennai living with us for the past one week or so and i have been talking spiritedly with him , yesterday for close to four hours, non stop. i had given an order for a full leather shoe in the near by shop and i would be taking delivery of it on thursday. grand father has passed many departmental exams , and i asked him wether he has any certificate to vouch for that, to that he tells me that the details would be in the service records only and also in the pension file, since he has passed some exams, accordingly he would be getting some few hundred rupees extra as pension. it would be better if some form of certificate is also given to the person who graduates.

the number of vehicles that is passing through the kathipara junction now a days is mind boggling to me. i have been travelling through these junction at various times of the day and each time the number of vehicles travelling through this important intersection is constant, if not increasing by the day. the construction of the grand fly over , that is happening at a frenetic pace might help ease it.

i have started to wear my new spectales in my box while driving the moped and when i reach the destination i again wear the spectacles after removing the helmet. the helmet is small compared tot he wider spectacles that iam wearing now. however sometimes i try to wear the spectacles after putting on the helmet. it is slightly clumsy, since when removing the helmet, first i have to take off the spectacles and only then remove the helmet.

Regarding the heavy rain today night.

Today at about eight o clock in the evening it started to rain heavily
and it continued non stop for another one and half hours, I haven't
watched this kind of intense down pour for a decade now. It was
spectacular, with the thunder and lightning strikes, in all this I was
also listening to the running commentary between india and england in
the radio, and it was a nail biting session of one day cricket, it was a
very tense one dayer where india won by two wicket with only two balls
to spare. The rain spray is coming from south west. I down loaded some
columns from the rediff web page and just now read completely them.
Aravind rajesh n.

today there was sharp rains here in chennai and the rain drops were not dense even though the drops were very big. that is what my mother commented. i was in front of my computer and i heard a loud noise and later only i realised that it is being made by the big sized rain drops falling on the plastic roof.
